There are many reasons for the postponing of the events in Fairfield, Iowa for May, 2002. I am not going to discuss them all. However, there was one pressing reason for me. I felt a strong spiritual resistance from the akash (ether) of that place. Jack Caldwell, the organizer, had read my article, "Putting Money Back into the Hands of the Spiritual People" and felt compelled to invite me to Fairfield. Jack had said that there are a lot of spiritual seekers in Fairfield, but most of them have no money. He wanted me to come to Fairfield to teach the mantras and concepts that I gave to Dr. Wayne Dyer. I agreed.

Two days prior to the Fairfield event, I was in Chicago and meditating. During the meditation, I sensed the resistance from the akash of Fairfield to my coming over there. I dismissed the feeling quickly. A few minutes later, Lakshmi appeared and requested me to change the venue because She could help more in the akash of Chicago than in Fairfield.

Akash is the abode of deities. There are good and bad spaces for Lakshmi, as in the north and south of some countries: North America, South America; Northern Italy and Southern Italy; Northern India and Southern India. My job was similar to Sri Shankara's. I was going to teach his Kanakadhara, a hymn that invokes Lakshmi. If Lakshmi herself was asking me to change the venue, I needed to concede to her.
