I Am Not a Happy Thought, Nor Am I an Unhappy Thought
 
 

Thoughts come to you and give you an experience, whether pleasant or unpleasant. Thoughts have different intensities as well. When you put your ego and emotions to go along with a thought, the intensity of that thought gets stronger and stronger. The intensity of the thought decides the intensity of your agony or ecstasy. In reality you are not your thoughts. You have the choice to think a thought or not think it. The following meditation will help you resolve the problem.

Meditation for Mind Chatter

Most people are unable to meditate because the mind chatters. The key to achieve peace of mind in meditation is through disallowing thoughts getting in. You have to realize that thoughts do not come from the brain. The brain simply processes and realizes thoughts. Thoughts come from outside. They are floating in the ether. Thought enters the body/mind complex through your eyes. The retinas in the eyes have billions of cells that receive the thoughts from the ether. Why in the ether? The thoughts are in a different form of energy. They hit the cells in the retina. Some thoughts are allowed in, and most bounce back into the ether. The thoughts that get in are related to your soul. You have known them in one or another lifetime. It is through recognition that the retina allows a thought to go in. Ordinarily this process is an autonomous one. You do not know you are thinking a thought. It is automatic. But once you become aware that your eyes are involved in the process of receiving thoughts, then a whole reality comes into being.

When you start your meditation, observe this process. Close your eyes and put your attention on the right eye and become aware of the retina's activity in processing the thoughts. Within a minute you will find that you are getting into a deeper state of inner peace.

Thoughts also enter through your ears as auditory signals. By simply putting your attention on the two eardrums, you can enter into a very deep meditation. Similarly, you can focus attention on the two nostrils and the tongue. Within five minutes of practice you will be able to change your consciousness.

How Can I Control My Anger?

Always remember that no thought can stay forever within this system. Anger is a stupid thought. It hurts you more than it hurts the other person that you are angry at. Every moment is new. Just stay in the moment. Yes, you were angry an hour ago or yesterday, but you are not angry any more. This existence in this embodiment is not a big deal. Just keep doing things that you want to do and move on.
