What is a birthstar?
Birthstars are stars that are part of specific constellations. There is a birthstar associated with each planet in your astrological birth chart. Birthstars are called Nakshastras in Sanskrit. There are 27 of them.
How does a birthstar influence me?
At the most basic level, birthstars work similar to Western zodiac signs in that they tell you about your character, interests and motivations in life.
Each month a birthstar's energies are active for anywhere from a few hours to a few days. During the time of your Moon sign birthstar each month, you are more open to receiving blessings and energies.
How can maximize my birthstar time?
Your birthstar time is an ideal time to focus on your goals for that month and meditate on realizing your dreams. How does a birthstar work for any ritual I request?
For most temple rituals you might request and for general Vedic astrology purposes the most important birthstar is the one associated with your Moon sign. When you sign up for a ritual or do one in person you provide your name and your Moon sign birthstar, which the priest will say during the ritual being done for you. If the ritual is being done for someone else the priest will say that person's name and their Moon sign birthstar during the ritual.
